Maintenance is essential for both reliability and effectiveness. Poorly maintained systems can become unreliable, lose their effectiveness and in extreme cases can cause health and safety issues. In some environmental conditions, for example; server rooms, reliability can be paramount. Correct servicing intervals and maintenance will reduce the likelihood of costly breakdowns.

Air conditioning systems are made up of a number of electrical and mechanical parts. Similar to a car, regular maintenance is advised to ensure that all of these parts are working correctly.
